TextCutter plugin for Figma

In my design work, I often have to re-type text from screenshots and reformat it.

For the first part, I use an OCR tool to get text from screenshots (my current favorite is TextSniper) but then I still have to format things.

This is where TextCutter comes in. This plugin makes the reformatting process easier by providing two features:

  • Split text: you can split multiline text into single lines
  • Join text: join lines back together

In this video, I demonstrate the process:

The plugin embraces the idea that sometimes the best UI is no UI. It seamlessly integrates with a Figma workflow by providing two commands, which can be triggered using a ⌘/ search.

You can grab the TextCutter plugin on the Figma community page.
